What lies within the pages of MM Publication is best described as an anthology: a thoughtfully curated collection of voices that honor the cycles of nature, the rhythms of womanhood, and the real, unpolished truths of our lived experiences.
Unlike traditional publications, which often aim for polish and uniformity, we embrace a more organic form. We leave women’s words more intact—less edited, more real—because authenticity carries power than perfection ever could.
We celebrate and highlight the many ways women express themselves by inviting submissions in a variety of forms, including:
Personal Essays
Honest reflections or life stories that capture a moment of growth, grief, healing, or transformation. These can be deeply personal or more universal. We love both.
Poetry
Free verse, structured, experimental… all poetry that speaks from the heart and honors your voice is welcome.
Short Stories
Fiction or creative nonfiction with strong emotion, character, or theme. Stories that make readers feel connected or inspired.
Art & Photography
Visual work that tells a story or evokes emotion. This includes paintings, digital art, photography, collages, and mixed media pieces.
Recipes
Food that carries meaning — whether it’s ancestral, seasonal, healing, or rooted in memory. We encourage including a short note about the story behind it.
Rituals & Practices
Everyday or sacred rituals, seasonal practices, or creative processes that nourish the body, mind, or spirit.
Reflections
Shorter contemplative pieces, journal entries, or letters to self. Often simple and powerful.
How-To Guides
Step-by-step instructions for something meaningful, from creative crafts to self-care practices to community-building ideas.
Book Reviews
Thoughtful reflections on books written by women or about women’s experiences. We especially welcome reviews that explore how the work impacted you personally or connects to a theme of empowerment, creativity, or healing.
If you’re not sure where your piece will fit, don’t worry! We’re here to help shape and place it during the editing process.

Bonus: Three Tips for a Smooth Submission Experience
1. Trust your voice. You don’t need to have it all figured out or write perfectly. Confidence comes from honoring your story as worthy of being witnessed, just as it is. Our team will gently edit and support your piece so it shines without losing your voice.
2. Get to know our readers. Spend time with previous editions of MM Publication. Notice what themes, tones, and forms speak to you, and imagine your piece sitting alongside them. This helps you find your natural place in the collective.
3. Gather all your details. Before submitting, have a short bio, any relevant permissions if your work features or mentions others, and high-quality photos or images when possible. Photos are especially recommended for recipes, crafts, DIYs, or visually rich pieces. If you don’t have images, we can draw from our MM Gallery by Tia Esther Creative to help bring your story to life.
